Polymer insulators are also called composite insulators.They are made of fiber glass core with silicon rubber sheath,and metal fittings on both ends are crimped. The polymeric insulators has better performance in hydrophobicity and electrical aspects compared with porcelain insulators.On the other hand,it is lighter in weight which are more convinient for transportation.
